this salsa is your basic, traditional salsa and it is SO yummy. serve it alongside your mexican feast or with some salted tortilla chips and guacamole as an appetizer. These directions are using bon COOK’s eco-chop [pictured below], which makes the entire process a breeze! If you do not have an eco-chop, you can purchase one here for only $49.16!
yields: 4 servings prep time: 5 minutes
3 plum tomatoes, roughly chopped & de-seeded
¼ cup red onion
¼ cup scallions, green + white parts
¼ cup cilantro, leaves only
1 large garlic clove [or ¼ tsp. garlic powder]
2 Tbsp. lime juice, freshly squeezed
½ tsp. kosher salt
¼ tsp cumin
optional: 1 small jalapeño
Place the blade in the base of the eco-chop.
Wash the tomatoes, roughly chop them and discard the seeds. Place them in the base of the eco-chop.
Roughly chop the red onion, scallions and garlic clove and place them in the base as well.
*if you are adding jalapeño, you can add it at this time
Place the cilantro in the base, put the eco-chop lid on and pulse until your desired consistency.
*to pulse, you pull the little red handle
Remove the blade and stir in the lime juice, salt and cumin.
Refrigerate until ready to serve! The longer the flavors have to merry, the better they will taste.
*save your tupper-ware and store the salsa in the eco-chop! you can remove the main base lid and place the red lid on.
