Trader Joe's has these really wonderful Chili Lime Chicken Burgers, which I decided to try and re-make! these babies are packed full of flavor and are super healthy. you can swap out the ground chicken for ground turkey, depending on what you have on hand, or your preference. they serve best with pepper jack or muenster cheese with slices of fresh avocado on top! serve them on burger buns, bagel thins [to be healthy-ish] or iceberg lettuce buns [to be super healthy!]

chile lime chicken burgers [Trader Joe’s copycat recipe]
yields: 4 servings prep time: 5 minutes cook time: 10-30 minutes
1 lb. ground chicken or turkey
2 green onions, diced
¼ cup red bell pepper, diced
2 Tbsp. mild green chiles
2 Tbsp. freshly chopped cilantro
2 tsp. minced garlic
½ tsp. kosher salt
¼ tsp. freshly cracked black pepper
juice from half a lime
In a large bowl, combine all the burger ingredients and mix until fully incorporated.
Using your hands, form 4 even patties. Spray each side of the patties with non-stick spray.
Grill burgers over medium-heat for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through [165°].
Add cheese [if desired] for the last bit of the cooking time, to allow it to melt.
Serve on buns or with iceberg lettuce alongside some sliced avocados!
