½ lb. ground beef
1 small yellow onion, diced
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
½ tsp. seasoned salt
½ tsp. kosher salt
½ tsp. freshly cracked black pepper
½ tsp. white sugar
1 tsp. dried oregano
2 cups milk
1 cup beef broth
2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
In a large pot, over medium heat, brown the beef until almost cooked through.
Add the onions and 1 T butter to the beef and continue cooking until onions are translucent.
Season with the garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, 2 salts, pepper and sugar.
Pour in the milk, beef broth and uncooked noodles; stir to combine and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to a simmer, cover and cook until noodles are tender, about 10 minutes.
Stir occasionally and to check on the noodles, you don’t want to overcook them!
Turn off the heat and stir in the cheese until well combined.
Let sit to allow the sauce to thicken, about 5 minutes.
Taste and adjust seasonings, if needed.
